Update - running, pushups, work...

So I have a week long convention going on and the amount of prep is astounding. I have however managed a last run on friday... 3 miles in 29 minutes. This is better than my recent 30 minutes but still not close to the best I ever did. I also slightly pulled my right quad on the last run.
Its kind of crazy that dropping your time per mile by 20 seconds is so hard. However, while I'm really enjoying the book I'm currently listening to (The New New Thing: A Silicon Valley Story, simply awesome) I run a lot faster when I listen to music. Only issue, I get bored with music real fast.
On the pushups side I have gotten to doing 52 pushups in a row (on the Perfect Pushup - its a lot harder than usual pushups) which is the most I think I have ever done in 10 years. The 100 Pushup program seems to really work, even if slower than they promise. I have repeatedly re-done some weeks in order to build up strength.
I will not be able to run this week, so I will need to at least move along on the pushup side.
The picture above is from the Hasedera temple, near Kamakura. Shot in HDR i might have spicified it a bit too much in photoshop during post production :)

Smokes stay at 5 per day... the really need to go down to 0. Help!
